HeathFest 2007

September sees the start of HEATHFEST, a two month festival celebrating Heathland at sites across Cornwall providing an opportunity for people to get involved, educated and passionate about their local landscape.

Over forty events have been organised on heathland sites across the county. There will be something for everyone from wildlife walks and photography workshops to children's art events and moth trapping!

Heath Lunch Special at Fifteen Cornwall

Fifteen Cornwall at Watergate bay will be offering Heath Lunch specials throughout October! The menu will include ingredients sourced from local heathland sites. It is sure to be very popular so book early on 01637 861000 or visit www.fifteencornwall.co.uk.

Purple Haze- a special brew from Skinners

Skinners have brewed a new beer, Purple Haze, especially the Heath Fest celebrations! The special ingredient is heathland honey from bees on heathland nature reserves on the Lizard. 5p from every bottle sold will go to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust for work on heathlands. Heath Fest Photography competition

Heathlands are ablaze with colour in September. Why not try and capture this in a photograph and enter the Cornwall Wildlife Trust's photography competition? Entries can be digital, 7 x 5" print or transparency and must be received by the 30th September for judging in early October.

Prizes include the latest book by David Chapman: "Wild about Cornwall", a celebration of the natural history of Cornwall and IOS, and the winning photo will be on display at Fifteen Cornwall throughout October.
